ZF Aftermarket launches Sachs Air Struts for independent aftermarket

ZF Aftermarket has introduced a comprehensive range of Sachs Air Struts to the independent aftermarket, responding to the increasing number of vehicles equipped with air suspension systems. With approximately ten million vehicles on European roads featuring this technology, the demand for replacement air springs and complete air struts is rising.

The new Sachs Air Struts are manufactured to OE specifications, guaranteeing the burst pressure defined by vehicle manufacturers. They feature a “plug-and-play” design, including all necessary mounting parts and the top mount, for straightforward installation. These components are fully compatible with vehicle electronic control systems, supporting automatic levelling and adaptive damping functions to ensure original driving behaviour.

Martyn Houghton, Country Manager IAM at ZF Aftermarket, stated: “The introduction of Sachs Air Struts marks a significant step in expanding our premium suspension offering to meet growing demand in the market. With OE-quality design and plug-and-play convenience, our new range helps the independent aftermarket stay competitive and confidently service modern vehicles.”

The initial range includes 22 part numbers for various Audi Q7, Porsche Cayenne, and VW Touareg models. ZF Aftermarket plans to extend this range over the coming months to include applications for Mercedes-Benz and Land Rover.

The SACHS Air Strut combines the air spring and shock absorber into a single unit. Sensors continuously monitor road conditions, load, and vehicle movements, allowing a control unit to adjust damping forces every two milliseconds. This dynamic adjustment enhances control, stability, and comfort.
