ZF Aftermarket bolsters UK service through Bristol Transmissions partnership

ZF Aftermarket is strengthening its service capability in the UK through its continuing partnership with Bristol Transmissions, an authorised ZF service partner since 2024. The collaboration is key to delivering OE-quality remanufactured transmissions and drivetrain solutions to the independent aftermarket.

Founded in 1972, Bristol Transmissions possesses decades of experience in remanufacturing automatic and manual transmissions, transfer boxes, and differentials for cars and light commercial vehicles. By partnering with ZF, the business has enhanced its offering with direct access to ZF’s global remanufacturing standards and product portfolio.

UK customers now benefit from access to over 2,000 ZF part numbers, with a strong focus on the latest 6-, 8-, and 9-speed automatic gearboxes. The partnership ensures customers receive OE-level testing and remanufacturing standards, supported by ZF’s seven-day delivery promise, which aims to minimise downtime for fleets and garages. Bristol Transmissions also provides ZF-approved technical literature at the point of sale.

Mark Bowen, Business Development Manager for Europe at ZF Group, commented on the strategy: “Our partnership with Bristol Transmissions has been an important step in ZF’s aftermarket strategy. With more than 50 years of remanufacturing expertise, they are a trusted name in the UK market, and we are proud to combine that local knowledge with ZF’s global standards and portfolio.”

Mr Bowen added that the partnership ensures workshops “have rapid access to the very best in remanufactured transmission technology – from our 6, 8 and 9 speed gearboxes to future hybrid applications.” The collaboration is also positioned to support the growing hybrid vehicle parc with sustainable, circular economy aftermarket solutions.
