HELLA TECH WORLD latest technical update is focusing on transmission range sensor circuits and vehicle-specific service tips. The transmission range sensor is responsible for determining transmission speed, which the control system uses to calculate gear requirements and shifting times.
The latest technical bulletin includes several specific workshop advisories:
- Alfa Romeo 159: An illuminated ESP indicator lamp may be caused by a defective brake fluid pressure sensor. HELLA notes:”The brake fluid pressure sensor is mounted inside the hydraulic unit and cannot be replaced as a single item. Therefore, in the event of any damage occurring, the complete ABS/ESP hydraulic unit has to be replaced.”
- VW Scirocco: DSG gearboxes may exhibit jerking or juddering, often accompanied by a flashing gear shift indicator.
- Mini Cooper F56: Water ingress in the luggage compartment and tool storage area can lead to odours; leaks are typically found around the tailgate.
- Citroën C4: Faulty battery condition detection may trigger warning messages despite a functional alternator and electrical system.
Additionally, HELLA GUTMANN highlighted its Cyber Security Management (CSM) solution. This platform allows technicians to unlock Secure ECUs across multiple manufacturers via a single unified access point, removing the need for individual OEM portal accounts.
