Hella Gutmann achieves BSI Kitemark for remote diagnostics

Hella Gutmann has earned the prestigious BSI Kitemark for Vehicle Damage Repair on its remote diagnostic service, macsRemote, underscoring its commitment to helping bodyshops and workshops deliver safe, compliant, OE-quality repairs.

The certification, aligned with BS 10125:2022, is recognised by vehicle manufacturers, insurers, and fleet operators, and demonstrates Hella Gutmann’s remote ability to deliver safe, compliant, and OE-standard vehicle repairs.

It covers a broad range of repairs from steering and suspension to ADAS, supplemental restraint systems (SRS), and both low- and high-voltage electronics, all accessible remotely via macsRemote.

“Bodyshops and independent garages alike face increasingly complex vehicles and systems,” said Alex Magee, Hella Gutmann Technical Specialist. “Achieving the BSI Kitemark confirms that our remote services meet rigorous industry standards, giving workshops and insurance partners confidence that repairs are safe, compliant, and OE-quality.”

The certification follows two detailed BSI audits: an initial assessment and a full compliance review, verifying that all technical and operational standards are met. It represents an independent mark of trust that enhances credibility, reduces potential disputes with insurers, and helps businesses stand out in a competitive market.

macsRemote allows workshops to perform advanced diagnostics and repairs remotely, without needing on-site OEM tools. Technicians simply connect the vehicle communication interface (VCI) to the vehicle and create a job ticket via Hella Gutmann’s online portal. A remote team of Hella Gutmann experts can then access the vehicle’s electronic systems and perform diagnostic tasks.

It’s an approach that gives garages the ability to deliver OE-quality repairs efficiently and handle complex systems that would otherwise require dealer intervention.
