febi introduces replacement DPF pressure hose for Ford 2.0 TDCi

Problem
The „Diesel Particulate Filter“ (DPF) icon is displayed on the digital
instrument panel.

To fit:
Ford Mondeo 07 / S-Max 06 / Galaxy 06 with 2.0 TDCi engine
OE: 1 440 559, 6G915H241AA

Cause
In the Ford models mentioned above, a pressure hose which routes the exhaust gas pressure to a differential pressure sensor is located on the DPF.

If the differential pressure upstream and downstream of the filter is too high, this is a sign that the filter is saturated and needs replacing.

It may be that the pressure hose is blocked or has been scorched by the high temperatures, causing it to leak. As a result, the pressure actually prevailing at the differential pressure sensor is transmitted incorrectly or not at all. In this case, the engine control unit receives incorrect information and passes it on to the driver via the warning light.

In most cases, diagnosis in the workshop reveals that the differential pressure sensor is faulty and requires replacing.

Solution
Check the lines and hoses of the diesel particulate filter or sensor before carrying out a costly replacement.

The problem is often remedied simply by replacing the pressure hose.

This saves the vehicle owner an expensive repair.
