Delphi Academy to take Tesla training to Mira Technology Institute

Delphi Academy is partnering with North Warwickshire & South Leicestershire College (NWSLC) to host free Tesla Service & Maintenance training at the MIRA Technology Institute on Monday 20 October 2025.

Many independent garages remain cautious about servicing Teslas. By working together, NWSLC and Delphi Academy aim to break down that hesitation, giving workshops a clear view of what’s involved and the confidence to recognise Tesla servicing as both practical and profitable.

“Electric vehicles are now part of everyday workshop life,” said Luke Garratt, UK Technical Services Manager at Delphi. “But Teslas can still feel daunting to some garages. This taster session is about stripping away the myths, showing technicians exactly what’s involved, and giving them the confidence to add EV services to their business.”

The timing is critical. More than 200,000 Teslas are already on UK roads, with a further 150,000 expected to enter the aftermarket between 2025 and 2027. Yet many independents still believe these vehicles are too complex to maintain.

Delphi Academy aims to challenge that perception, showing how routine Tesla servicing, from brake fluid and coolant changes to service mode access, can be carried out safely and profitably by trained technicians.

“Delphi’s practical training is helping to break down barriers and change minds,” added Charlotte Ward, Commercial Project Manager at NWSLC. “We want to show garages that with the right knowledge, Tesla servicing is not something to fear. They’re a real opportunity to grow their business.”

The session combines Delphi Academy’s OE-based EV expertise with NWSLC’s focus on skills growth, giving independent workshops a practical insight into one of the fastest-growing segments of the UK car parc.

Funded by Innovate UK through the Further Education Innovation Fund, the event is part of the Driving SME Innovation in the West Midlands project, supporting innovation, productivity and high-quality jobs.

Tickets to the event, which runs from 3.00pm – 8.00pm, are available to online by clicking here.
